WTC Ballerup focuses on Sustainability

WTC Ballerup is a member of the UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate responsibility initiative.

The UN Global Compact was established in 2000 by then UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan to mobilize the world's businesses in a global movement for sustainable development.

WTC Ballerup is committed to integrate environmental and other principles into our strategy and operations - and thereby contributing to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In WTC Ballerup we have a special focus on SDG 7 "Affordable and clean Energy" and SDG 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production".

Solar photovoltaic systems
In February 2022, a major solar PV system was installed on the roof of the conference center building. The output of the 547 panels is 200 KWP, which is expected to cover a large part of the consumption of this building.

Certified green power
The remaining power in the building is certified green power from Norsk Elkraft.

LED lighting
WTC Ballerup has LED lighting both inside and outside, which contributes to low energy consumption.

Waste sorting
As of January 2022, all units in the building sort waste into 8 fractions. For this purpose, up to several waste bins have been installed on all floors. The more recycling, the less CO2 emissions, and air pollution with hazardous particles. Example: for every 1 kg of plastic waste recycled rather than sent for incineration, we save energy equivalent to an average household's standby consumption for all electrical appliances for 14 days.

As more and more people switch to electric and hybrid cars, we are experiencing an increasing demand for charging stations. So, to complement the 2 existing charging points, 2 more charging points has be installed in January 2022 to enable even more people to charge while they are at work.
